The Curio Guarantee

Refund Policy

Every order on Curio has a 14-day return window. If a piece does not work for you, you can return it unworn with the Curio hangtag attached. If an item arrives misrepresented, damaged, or inauthentic, the Curio Guarantee makes it right.

The promise

  • 14 days from confirmed delivery to request a return.
  • Fit and change-of-mind returns are accepted when the item is unworn, unaltered, in the same condition received, and the Curio hangtag is still attached.
  • Lifetime authenticity guarantee. If an item is ever determined to be inauthentic, we refund you in full — no time limit.

Fit and change-of-mind returns

If the piece is not quite right, contact us within 14 days of delivery. The return is eligible if the item is:

  • unworn and unaltered
  • in the same condition as delivered
  • returned with the Curio hangtag still attached
  • shipped back with tracking within 5 business days of approval

For these returns, you’re refunded the purchase price of the item. Original shipping is not refunded, and you pay return shipping.

The Curio Guarantee

A Guarantee claim is eligible if the item:

  • has undisclosed damage — holes, stains, dry rot, broken hardware, or prior repairs not shown in the listing
  • differs from disclosed measurements by more than 1 inch (2.5 cm)
  • is materially misrepresented in era, fabric, brand, or construction
  • never arrived (verified against carrier tracking)
  • is not authentic — no time limit applies

When a Guarantee claim is not eligible

Vintage is one-of-one, condition is partly subjective, and our sellers describe their inventory in detail so you know what you’re buying. Guarantee claims based on the following are not eligible:

  • fit or change of mind
  • color variance within reason for the era and materials
  • wear consistent with the stated condition grade and visible in listing photos

These may still qualify for a standard 14-day return if the item is unworn, unaltered, in the same condition received, and the Curio hangtag is still attached.

How to open a return or claim

For a fit or change-of-mind return, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo of the item with the Curio hangtag still attached.

For a Guarantee claim, contact us with three photos:

  1. The item with the Curio hangtag still attached
  2. The defect or discrepancy
  3. The defect or discrepancy with a ruler or measuring tape visible for scale

We aim to acknowledge claims within 24 hours and decide within 72 hours of receiving complete documentation.

If your Guarantee claim is approved

  • You’re refunded 100% of the purchase price plus original shipping
  • We send you a prepaid return label — the seller covers return shipping
  • You ship the item back within 5 business days of approval, tracked
  • Curio absorbs the payment processing fees — you get a full refund

Why we do it this way

Curio only works if buyers trust what they’re getting and sellers can run a real business on the platform. A clear 14-day window gives buyers room to decide while keeping returns tied to unworn, tag-attached pieces. When something is misrepresented, damaged, or inauthentic, we stand behind it.
